True Story Tuesday

Ok..so as any of you that read me regularly, or even just a little, probably already know..I got married last week. (I even did a 10 days as Mrs B. entry yesterday, but this blog site wasn't working so I couldn't post it here. :( )
Well...my true story for today happened a week ago, on Memorial Day night, after returing home from my honeymoon.

I was in my livingroom, at our house (still hard to reconcile the fact that "his" house is now "our house") and the phone rings. It's my lovely 10 year old daughter who was staying at her dad's for the week. We are talking about the day's events, and I finally say something to the effect of "I'm fixin to get ready to go to bed."

There comes this long silent pause over the phone...
Daughter: "Are you gonna sleep at Greg's house?"
Me: "well...yeh baby. I am."
Daughter: "You aren't gonna go home and sleep in your bed tonight?"
Me: "well...no. This IS our home now. I'm gonna sleep here."
Daughter: "With Greg? You don't wanna go sleep in your own bed while you still can?" (we were in the process of moving all my stuff over to "Greg's house".)
Me: "ummm..baby....Greg and I are married now. I'm suppose to sleep in his bed with him now."
Daughter: (very disgruntled) "Oh, I just thought you'd wanna sleep in your own bed while you still had the chance!"

oh my...we had a laugh outta that one after hanging up the phone.
She knew we were moving in with him...guess it just hadn't ALL sunk in yet!

So...that's my true story for today.
You gotta good'un? Go link up with Rachel at her place to share it!
I am!

Popping over from Once Upon a Miracle ....

I take it your 10 year old didn't see too many "sleepovers" up to this point? ;) Or maybe she was just looking out for you ... get the last bit of alone time you can ... Cute story

Congrats!

That is too funny! Bless her heart! And good for her...that's the way it needs to be...girls in girl beds and boys in boy beds!
