July 10- 22...Where does the time go?

Image
I swear! The time just gets away from me, and I don't really feel like I'm accomplishing much...but I guess I really am, in retrospect. Let's see...what has kept me busy these past 2 weeks? Sunday, July 10 JA WORK STUFF DAY I'd been working on preparing a newsletter to send out to all of our Junior Auxiliary Life and Associate Members (the ones that are no longer "active"). They do like to know what's going on, what we have planned, and reminded that they are always invited to help us in our projects and such. I'd been working on this letter for about 2 weeks...not only preparing it, but then checking and rechecking addresses...and finally got them ready to mail out. All 85 of them. Then I got myself organized and made binders/folders for the things I'm in charge of this year. A week of no kids..of quiet...of me and hubby time...of no plans. the last week like this for the summer Monday, July 4 ENJOYING THE QUIET no fireworks for us...just laying in my pool, and then eating leftover grilled food from the weekend. oh..and my knee is getting better! Tuesday, July 5 SAY GOODBYE TO THE BED the hospital bed that is! They came and got it today, so after a month, Greg is now back in the bed with me. After that, it was a "ME" day...went to see Larry Crowne, bought some grilling groceries, and drove home in a horrific storm. Picked up Amigo Juan's for supper, since it had stormed and we were both exhausted. Wednesday, July 6 THE CALM AFTER THE STORM Woke up to find that the previous night's storm had left us with some damage. Two trees in our front yard were struck by lightning, (where ...

Another week with the kids here...not a lot of running around. Mostly staying home...but fun nevertheless Sunday, June 26 WE HAVE KITTIES My stepson, Alex, has 2 cats, Crash--a male orange tabby, and Pixie--a siamese looking female. They are brother and sister, and just over a year old. He brings them with him every Friday when he comes for the weekend (he's here Fri-Monday of one week, and Fri-Tuesday of the next, alternating...still at nearly 21, just like he always has). Anyway...Friday, we were talking about how fat Pixie was looking, and in jest, saying, "I hope she's not pregnant!"...well, guess what..SHE WAS! Sunday evening, she crawled in behind Alex's bottom dresser drawer, which he took out, and had 3 baby kittens. Monday, June 27 WHAT? DOESN'T EVERYONE CARRY A CHEESEBURGER IN THEIR PURSE? Today, our new JA President, (and friend, and even my vice-principal)and I went around to the businesses that had given us monetary donations for Junior Auxiliary,...
