June 19-25 A Not So Quiet Week at Home

Image
The kids have returned! We really didn't do a lot this week, yet we managed to stay busy! Sunday, June 19 FATHER'S DAY We had Father's Day dinner at Greg's Mom's house. We took over the ribs and tenderloin we grilled the night before, and then when dinner was over, I headed to get my kids with a care package of ribs and tenderloin and twice baked taters to take to MY dad for Father's Day. Monday, June 20 MATT'S BELATED BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION Since the boys had not been here in months, we never got a chance to celebrate Matt's bday here. Oh sure, we had the party at my mom's...but we always do one with just us, too, and I wasn't gonna let this year be any different. After a dinner of ..you guessed it, RIBS (we made 3 racks for the 3 different meals), Matt opened his gifts. He got tshirts and video games, but the best gift was given by Greg. A .22 Savage rifle. His first gun. Tuesday, June 21 TRASH DAY Yep...you can tell by the amount of trash that t...

Hanging up my superwoman cape...at least for today

"I can't do it. I can't keep everyone happy. I am stuck in the middle and I don't like it. I feel like I'm walking on eggshells. I feel so much tension when the kids are all here.... trying to make sure they aren't doing things that annoy Greg...trying to explain to them why he is/does things the way he is/does. It is wearing me out. I wanna cry all the time right now. It could be hormones, too. I'm tired of his being incapacitated. I'm tired of being selfless. I wanna be selfish for a little while. I want everyone to not get on each other's nerves, I want it to all be perfect. Why is that too much to ask?"

June 13-18..a quiet week at home

A QUIET WEEK AT HOME [There is an entry before this one if you missed out on last week..or aren't caught up on all my activities (b/c I KNOW you don't want to miss a thing!)] Yes, it's been pretty quiet. The kids have all been gone. Molly at her dad's still, the boys in Tennessee at church camp. Greg is still recovering, but doing well. June 13 RELAXING DAY I decided that since I like being tan, and our Country Club no longer has a pool, and Greg refuses to put on in our back yard, I'd just do my own thing. So..I went out and bought a little plastic pool, and decided to make the best of it! June 14 GETTING BACK IN THE SWING OF THINGS Greg had his checkup with the neurologist today. Everything is looking good...he still has to wear the neck brace for 4 more weeks (which means still no driving) but the doctor said he could go back to work, in moderation. Upon our arrival home, we noticed a flag had been placed in our yard. One of the nursing homes put flags in all the...

June 3- 12 Stuff in my life

summertime summertime sumsumsummertime... Yep...that's what's goin on here in my little world. It's been a busy 2 weeks since my last update of my goin ons. Let's see.... Greg had surgery, Molly graduated elementary school, and I finished school. But what about since? Well...let's see. June 3-5 THE WEEKEND Friday was the last day of school. After missing the previous 2 days, I somehow, for the first time in my 21 year career, managed to get my classroom cleaned and packed up in ONE DAY! Of course I only had 5 students show up...so that helped! I kept them busy with various activities and was able to "get'er done". Greg was at home alone most of the day...but his mom did come check on him. Saturday, I took Maggie to be groomed. When I left her, I had an uneasy feeling (first time using this groomer), but I loved the way she looked when I picked her up. Sunday, I took Molly to her dad's to spend the next two weeks, and my highlight of the day was be...

Let's just say....

There is a reason I'm NOT a nurse!

Pictures are worth more than words

Time for another picture entry of what's been going on in the wonderful world of me! I think the weekend before Easter was where I last left off (for the 1 person here who actually read it)... so I'll start there. April 22-30 EASTER WEEK Greg had decided he wanted to go out and get a new grill, so we we had one last meal on our little round grill. Molly brought out hot dogs to roast... Our furbabies wanted a bite, of course. "You distract her and I'll grab the goods!" "Moooooooom...make Molly share!" No..they're all mine! Oh no they're not! One final run.... MMmmmmmmmmmmmm good eats On Saturday,I was feeling rather meloncholy about this holiday weekend...the boys were not here, it was just me and Molly. My sister "ruined" our traditional Easter plans by changing them and then announcing how it was gonna be...(and we all know, I'm not big on change.) So...Molly and I decided we n...
