My week in pics

Image
On this quiet Saturday morning, while the linens are washing, and before I make a batch of pancakes and curl up on the couch to watch my dvr'd shows from teh week, I thought I'd share my week...in pictures. Monday Rain Rain Go Away-- flooding, tornados..it's been a wet week: *the neighbor's yard...street in front for reference *my front yard Tuesday: The ever mischievous Maggie Mae *Hey..I want my Gizmo! *Must.protect.my kid.from these.wretched bunny slippers!!! *sure sure....she looks cute now...but not so much when she's chewing the plug off the vacuum cleaner cord. While I don't actually "believe" that horoscopes predict the future, or anything like that, I do find their occasional coincidences something to smile at sometimes. October 28, 2009 Aries (3/21-4/19) Getting through the workday will be a bit of a battle -- not because you're fighting with anyone, though. You just won't want to be there. You'd much prefer to be home, either alone or with the one person on the planet you feel comfortable enough to be completely silent with. It's not that you're tired -- you're just drained. You've been burning the candle at both ends lately. It's okay. Even you need to rest every now and then. ________________________________________________________________ I took the afternoon off. Molly has her Honor Roll assembly at 2:00. I still need to pick up her report card since I couldn't make it to parent/teacher conferences. I have things to take the post office, which closes before I get out of tutoring in th...

Memory Lane...

Image
I haven't done a "memory lane" entry in quite awhile. I use to do them for each of my three kids on their birthdays, but then, after a few years, I decided that my friends had seen all my favorite pictures of my kids, so I stopped and just posted pics of them from that year. A new friend posted a "memory lane" post a week or so ago, and enouraged others to do the same...so, with this being Trey's 16th birthday weekend, WHY NOT? Welcome to my walk down memory lane...remembering the fun parts, (and maybe some not so fun parts) of the past 16 years with my firstborn child. On October 22, 1993, God blessed our lives with John William III (or "Trey", as we call him.) *3 days old He was such a precious little guy.. *2 months old, his first Christmas *6 months old, first Easter *destined to play basketball *1 yr old, and ready to rodeo always curious... and into mischief.... but still a good boy! *2 yrs old and still rodeoing! *and still curious! He was s...

Blogging vs Journaling

Image
I was thinking in the shower tonight....as I usually do...it's really the only place I ever have my "deep thougths"....about my "blogging". I started keeping an online diary/journal in the summer of 2000 at freeopendiary.com. Several of my online friends started writing there, so I did, too. It was a way of documenting what was going on in my life at the time...as a married woman, a mother of 3 young children (Trey was 6 1/2, Matt had just turned 2 and Molly was about to be 1.) My marriage was about to come to an end, or at least it was the beginning of the end, and I needed friends and support, and I needed a place to vent and express myself. I didn't have any "real life friends" to talk to. I was new to the internet, involved in a chatroom, and meeting lots of new people there. We had a pretty tight group there for several years. I wrote about the kids, I wrote about my husband, I wrote about the separations, and new people entering my life. Wh...
