Project 365: Where did the week go?

Image
A Picture a day for 365 days...a years worth of fun! Wow...just realized I've only made it over here twice this week...I'm so far behind in reading everyone..I'm so sorry! Things are busy right now..some weeks are just like that. I'll try to catch up on your posts, but for now, let me reflect on what kept ME so busy and unattentive to you this past week. 365/51 Sunday I have never claimed to be a "scrapper", and have very little experience with it. (and I DO mean, "very little"), so this attempt at creating a scrapbook page to represent my JA chapter that goes into our national scrapbook is not one I am particularly proud of. I do it because I'm the Public Relations chairperson, and it's my duty. Last year, I had help. This year..it was all on me. But I got it done and submitted. 365/52 Monday The speakers we are raffling off at $1/ticket to raise funds to send JA members to our national conference in Mobile, AL in Ma...

F is for Facebook Friends

Image
Today is Alphabee-Thursday. That means my blog is brought to you by the letter F. is for "Hi. My name is Robin. And I'm a Facebook Addict". (Hi Robin!) Yes...I'm one of THOSE people. oh stop rolling your eyes at me!! It's fun, it's harmless, it's good for the soul! sure it takes up more time than I care to admit...but at least I'm not spending all my online time surfing for porn! Not even for midget porn...which a friend tells me is pretty darn funny. (for the record...I detest porn...a major sore spot from my divorce days) anywho...back to the topic at hand... or fingertips, rather... I I have about 600 friends on there. And yes..I know almost every one of them personally! (there *are* a couple that are friends of friends that wanted to be my friend....I'm just now getting to know them. And I do count my bloggy friends as friends I know!) People from my childhood, from college, from places I've worked, family members that I never got to know ...

Project 365: another week gone by

Image
A Picture a day for 365 days...a years worth of fun! Why are short weeks always so long? What DID I do this week? I know I was busy...but what did I accomplish? 365/44 Sunday After church, my friend Trish invited us over for pizza and video games. I didn't get a picture of it b/c my camera batteries were dead, so this will have to suffice...a pic of Trish and her kids. 365/45 Monday President's Day...no school Took the boy's back to their dad's house, and Molly and her friend Melanie (see above pic) and I went to Hot Springs for a girl day--lunch at the Olive Garden and a trip to the mall. 365/46 Tuesday back to school after a 4 day weekend 365/47 Wednesday entertaining herself 365/48 Thursday long day at school..7am-7pm. Alphabee Thursday: E is for Expectations

Image
Today is Alphabee-Thursday. That means my blog is brought to you by the letter E. is for yep...that's right. Expectations Such a big word. Dictionary.com defines it as Something expected. hmmm....kinda vague, so I looked up "EXPECT": 1.to look forward to; regard as likely to happen; anticipate the occurrence or the coming of 2. to look for with reason or justification: There are certain things I just expect in life: * I expect the light to come on when I flip the switch. * I expect the microwave to pop my popcorn perfectly in about 3 minutes. * I expect whatever I'm plugging into the electrical socket to work when I turn it on. * I expect to be given correct change when paying for a purchase. I also have expectations of people in my life. *I expect people to do what they say they will do *I expect my children to do what I ask of them, when I ask it *I expect kindness instead of rudeness in public *I expect honesty from others. *I expect my dog to jump all over me as...

Image
A Picture a day for 365 days...a years worth of fun! Another week has come and gone, and here we are on Valentine's Day already! Where does time go? I must be having fun because time sure is a-flyin! Let's see what this week involved.... 365/37 Sunday Driving the 70 miles each way to pick up Molly from her dad's. This is the console of my Durango. A peek into my clutter! 365/38 Monday my relaxing spot at the end of a hard day....Greg's house 365/39 Tuesday Tulips from Greg for our 5th anniversary (of our first date) 365/40 Wednesday That's my story and I'm stickin' to it! 365/41 Thursday We came out of Parent-Teacher conferences at 7:30 to find snow on the ground (and on the cars). This is HIGHLY unusual for Southwest Arkansas in February! 365/42 Friday SNOW DAY!! and since we were already out of school for our bi-annual "day after parent-teacher conferences day off" we don't have t...

Alphabee Thursday: D is for Diet

Image
Today is Alphabee-Thursday. That means my blog is brought to you by the letter D. I'm a bit late in posting b/c I've been at school all day doing Parent/Teacher conferences and my blog is blocked by the server there, so now that I'm home, let's get right down to it. is for That 4 letter word!! UGH! I've spent so many years on diets, I think I've lost a total of 476 lbs! I should be the size of a celery stalk! I know it's suppose to be "not about losing weight", but about "getting healthy". To that, I say BALONEY!!! (and not the Oscar Meyer kind) It IS about losing weight. It IS about looking better. I FEEL just fine. I don't have a problem with self-image. It's the mirror image I don't like. I want to be thinner and sexier and more attractive. I know I look like a right now....and I want to look like a (lol) But seriously. Why are we so obsessed with weight? I feel good about myself. My boyfriend likes my body. In fact, if...

Monday Movie Madness

Image
So the other day on Facebook I decided to pose the question, "What is the best movie ever made?" I got quite a few responses. Most did not surprise me...lots of classics: and even and then there were some that may be classics someday...if they aren't already: of course there were genre faves: DISNEY: (*altho I must admit..this one is not one of my faves! Dunno why really..just kinda weird to me. Never understood it. And the new Tim Burton one is so freaky looking, too!) FANTASY: ROMANCE: and then just some plain 'ole good shows! And there were 2 listed that I have not seen...and probably won't. So..what do you think? Is your fave listed in this compililation? Or is there another great movie out there that should be added to the list? I'm thinking of doing a Monday Movie type of post each week. So stay tuned...it's coming to a blog near you...hopefully!
