June 13-18..a quiet week at home

A QUIET WEEK AT HOME
[There is an entry before this one if you missed out on last week..or aren't caught up on all my activities (b/c I KNOW you don't want to miss a thing!)]
Yes, it's been pretty quiet. The kids have all been gone. Molly at her dad's still, the boys in Tennessee at church camp. Greg is still recovering, but doing well.

RELAXING DAY
I decided that since I like being tan, and our Country Club no longer has a pool, and Greg refuses to put on in our back yard, I'd just do my own thing. So..I went out and bought a little plastic pool, and decided to make the best of it!

GETTING BACK IN THE SWING OF THINGS
Greg had his checkup with the neurologist today. Everything is looking good...he still has to wear the neck brace for 4 more weeks (which means still no driving) but the doctor said he could go back to work, in moderation.

Upon our arrival home, we noticed a flag had been placed in our yard. One of the nursing homes put flags in all the yards in our neighborhood in honor of Flag Day.

and now that Greg got a good report from the doc, it was time to grill again! You just can't keep a good man down!

June 15
INSERVICE DAY
I spent all day today at school learning the ins and outs of our new reading series. It wasn't too awful, and I got to see some of my teacher friends.
Also got to kick a little domino butt later!

June 16
CLEANING AGAIN
Time to start getting organized. After cleaning a couple of rooms last week, it was time to start organizing the storage shop by going through all those rubbermaid tubs I'd packed last year and put in there.
I rediscovered some of my treasures...like this shadow box, full of memories from childhood through present day (now that I added to it)..and some of you may recognize a few things. (I wanted to post this pic on Facebook and tag the friends with whom some of these memories were made..but then realized there were ex-boyfriends' stuff, and I didn't have stuff from all my friends/family on it...and didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings.)

June 17
FRIEND DAY
oh not for me...for Maggie and Tate.
They are starting to play together more now. Maggie has finally decided that maybe he's not so bad afterall!

June 18
SATURDAY AGAIN
Another day unpacking boxes, sorting/trashing/pricing stuff for an upcoming yard sale.
Greg started grilling for our Father's Day meals tomorrow. His mother brought over some tenderloins we'll have at her house today (Sunday), and we grilled ribs to go with it, and to take to my dad for Father's Day, and to have Monday for Matthew's belated birthday celebration at our house.

And meat wasn't the only thing SMOKIN' at our house...I was smokin hot at the domino table once again!

So that's what we've been up to this week.
OOOH..I forgot to mention in the previous entry about last week...
We finally, FINALLY, got our yard landscaped.
In fact, our yard man was here doing it when I brought Greg home from the hospital on June 2. It looks SO much better!
Before:

Even with the snow, you can see how bushy it was

After:

see...much neater! all those bushes under the windows are gone, and the rest have all been trimmed.
Now that I'VE finally gotten back up to date, maybe I can stay on top of things better and not get so behind! This next week should be exciting as the kids return.
It'll definitely be LOUDER!
Comments
I've never played dominos. I'll have to look up the 'how to's'. Might be fun to do with the Grands. I'm reading back to see what happened.
Love a good game of dominos. So fun!
