June 19-25 A Not So Quiet Week at Home

The kids have returned! We really didn't do a lot this week, yet we managed to stay busy!

Sunday, June 19
FATHER'S DAY
We had Father's Day dinner at Greg's Mom's house. We took over the ribs and tenderloin we grilled the night before, and then when dinner was over, I headed to get my kids with a care package of ribs and tenderloin and twice baked taters to take to MY dad for Father's Day.

MATT'S BELATED BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION
Since the boys had not been here in months, we never got a chance to celebrate Matt's bday here. Oh sure, we had the party at my mom's...but we always do one with just us, too, and I wasn't gonna let this year be any different. After a dinner of ..you guessed it, RIBS (we made 3 racks for the 3 different meals), Matt opened his gifts. He got tshirts and video games,

but the best gift was given by Greg.
A .22 Savage rifle. His first gun.

TRASH DAY
Yep...you can tell by the amount of trash that the kids are home.

Wednesday, June 22
HANGING OUT AT HOME
We've done a lot of nothing this week. Mostly watching scary movies together (well...not Molly, she gets her own movies to watch), and playing with the dogs.

Thursday, June 23
BREAKFAST OF CHAMPIONS
nothin' like a little Hershey's syrup on your bananas!

Friday, June 24
A DAY OUT
After taking Greg to work (b/c he still can't drive), the kids and I headed to T-town for an afternoon out.
We wound up stuck in Books-A-Million for well over an hour...kids finding books they wanted...having to decide what they would get this time, and what could wait....
Matt wound up with the first 3 in the Percy Jackson Series.

Molly got 3 more from her Princess Diaries collection
but what she really wanted was this:

Trey picked "The Five People you Meet in Heaven". He loves that author and has several of his books already.
and I got this book for me and Greg.

TIME TO GRILL AGAIN
This weekend's grill fest was Chickenpalooza.
We started out smoking some chicken, then when it was done, we bbq'ed the rest, threw some corn on the cob on with it, then grilled up some pineapple and veggies to go with it.
Greg's really getting this grillin' thing down!

So...just another week.
I feel kinda bad that we aren't going and doing much. Mostly hanging at the house watching movies, playing video games. No real vacation this year. But they seem ok with it. The kids will be here for one more week, then go back to their dad's for a week or two. Nothing terribly exciting. But some summers are just like that I guess.
