Sunday-June 6

Back to life...Back to reality.
Been married a week plus.
Old house was finished, Had a "me" day.
Time to get back into the swing of things.
This was the week the kids would be back.
After a 4 days of camping with their dad...they were worn out puppies!
They slept all the way to my house.

Monday-June 7

We started putting "the new house" together. Meshing our stuff with Greg and Alex's stuff. Took time out for lunch tho at our newest Italian restaurant.

Tuesday-June 8

Catching up on laundry and getting the laundry room cleaned out was a tiring job.
There were piles of clean clothes just awaiting the ironing board.
I convinced them that they could wait in the closet instead!
(this was only about 1/3 of the actual pile)

Wednesday-June 9

Haircut day!

Molly loves getting her "hair did".

Matt...not so much!

This was as short as I could talk him into without World War III starting!

Thursday-June 10

Back to Little Rock to get the biopsy results from hubby's tests last week.
Nothing terribly serious. A couple of precancerous spots to keep an eye on.
Since the kids behaved so well in the car all the way up there (over 100 miles each way) and in the doctor's office, we took them to eat at Applebee's.

They were "Eating good in the neighborhood".
I kept waiting for John Corbett to show up...no luck!

Friday-June 11

Flood day. Camp Albert Pike, near my old hometown (where my boys, their dad, and my parents live)flooded. You may have seen it on the news. CNN was covering it live. 18 dead, over 20 still missing. One lady from my church here was swept away in the flood waters and didn't make it. A former student of my brother's and her child were also killed. So tragic.
My exhub and my oldest son were called out to be part of a rescue team. (Ex is an EMT/Firefighter/Rescue Leader for the county)
Trey, my son, worked all day helping people to safety and with minor injuries while his dad was in charge of a triage station for those who were hurt.
I was so proud of him for giving up his time and working to save others.
These are not my pics...for I was not there, but they were sent by a friend.
It's all so devestating.....the loss of lives, the fact that it hit so quickly, in the middle of the night, and so many campers were trapped with one exit flooded and the other up the mountain that was having a mudslide.

(**this one is actually IN TOWN, at the Cattle Sale Barn, where my family lives)

(**this is at the bridge in Glenwood (the town I just mentioned), all that water is where we use to go play and picnic. Campers put canoes in here, or take them out if they've set their course further up river. It's a camping spot as well.)

It hurts my heart so bad.

Saturday-June 12

As it always does, even after a tragedy of this proportion, life goes on.
Trey was unable to come down for the weekend, but of course I understood.
We were busy all day with the Klipsch Pilgrimage Concerts.
From 3pm - midnight there were bands playing, and hubby was in charge of getting it streamed online, and of getting it recorded for television.
It was hot and humid...heat index was over 100 degrees, but there was some good music and we had a good time. Or at least Molly and I did. Hubby worked!

It was a late night, and then the A/C went out.
But the man has been called...and will be here shortly to fix it. (luckily, he's a neighbor!)
Life will go on!
I wonder what this next week will bring (hint...Trey's coming, I have an inservice training for school, my mom's best friend will be visiting from Alabama, and then the kids go back to their dad's for a week!)
We'll just have to wait and see what adventures await us!
Mama always says...."We make plans. God laughs!"

I am participating in the 2010 Mommytography 365 Project!
For this year long project I will be posting an image a day.
I am hoping this will...

• help me find new things around me to focus my attention on
• share my world with my friends and family more

Anyone interested in photography can join, no need to be a Mommytographer.
