Project 365--settling in to a new way of life
A Picture a day for 365 days...a year's worth of fun!

Life is getting back to normal. We've been married 3 weeks now, the house is, of course, still not completely unpacked..but then it may never be! HA! But life is getting into a routine, and all is well.

The Relax-Don't Do It Day
After the floods on Friday and the all day/night concerts Saturday, today was a lazy day.

The Day Everything Could Go Wrong, and Did
~If you've read my "True Story Tuesday" entry from this past week, you know all the mayhem that ensued Monday night. I'll just recap in pics....

SONIC NIGHT
I sat through an inservice training all day learning how to make more things on the computer using Microsoft Publisher. Not a bad day, but luckily it was Tuesday...which means 1/2 price burgers at Sonic...which means no cooking for me!

PLAY WITH THE KIDS DAY
My last day with all 3 kids for awhile, so we headed to "the city". Lunch and fun at the mall.
While the boys chose to experience the Hurricane machine (winds get up to 78mph in there)....
.....Molly and I enjoyed the massage chairs.

FAMILY GATHERING DAY
My mom's bestest friend (we call her "Auntie") came to visit from Alabama. While she was here we all met up in a central location to have lunch together. My sis/BIL and their boys, My bro/SIL and niece, and of course me and my 3.
Whenever we all get together, you can bet it turns into a party. They even had an impromptu wedding shower for me...right there in the McDonald's!
(you may have seen the whole album on Facebook. Lots more pics there!)
I came home later, to an empty house (no kids...they went back to their dad's after our gathering), and hubby and I had fun grilling shrimp and being alone together.

HOME ALONE DAY
I did very little of anything on this day. I watched a movie...I know that. 2 actually. One alone, curled up in the bed,
and one later with hubby.
In fact...I didn't even take a picture at all today!

NEW CAMERA DAY
After a lot of thought, and a deep realization that it was just time.....I finally decided I needed to go buy a new camera. The one I've been using is about 6 years old, a gift from my previous boyfriend. It's been a good camera, but after many many drops onto the floor, it was no longer zooming (the button broke), which meant I also couldn't choose to delete pictures from the card, and...the door that holds the batteries in place was no longer staying firmly shut, which meant it was losing power, sometimes mid picture, and I was having to hold it close while using the camera and having to reset the date/time EVERYTIME I turned it on.
So....with a heavy heart, b/c I just don't like change, I mustered up the strength to go purchase a new one.
(It also helped that I still had a gift card to Target my sister gave us as a wedding gift, and had received some money in a wedding card this week, too!)
Goodbye old faithful friend...we've had many adventures together, from Florida, to Kentucky, Nebraska, Kansas, births of neices and nephews, family celebrations, deaths, weddings, school classes, and so much of my life!
Hello new camera...I hope you will be as good to me as your predecessor. It will take me some time to get to know you, to figure you out. You are capable of doing more and holding WAY more pics than my previous companion. Be good to me, and I'll take care of you!
So... a new adventure begins. In more ways than one!
Today is Sunday again...Father's Day...and my boys have just left their church this morning to drive 10+ hours to East Tennessee for a week of church camp.
Hopefully they will have a great experience. It's Matthew's first time to go.
and hopefully Trey will not have a repeat of last year's camping fun...he dislocated his shoulder the 2nd night there and spent the night in a Tennessee ER, and was on limited activities for the rest of the trip.
Am praying safe travels and great times for them this week. Molly is at her dad's w/o them, too. Fun for her...quiet house for me! But never fear...I've got much to do.
But you'll just have to wait til next Sunday to find out what!
I am participating in the 2010 Mommytography 365 Project!
For this year long project I will be posting an image a day.
I am hoping this will...
• help me find new things around me to focus my attention on
• share my world with my friends and family more
Anyone interested in photography can join, no need to be a Mommytographer.
