Hippity Hoppity Easter's on it's way!
****(my Project 365..week in picture entry is right before this one)***

Yeh yeh...I'm a day late in posting the pics from our Annual Family Easter Brunch and Egg hunt, but seriously....there were nearly 90 pics to upload and sort through...and I didn't get home til late. I'm just now getting to them!
As you know, my very family oriented family finds reason to celebrate everything that goes on in our lives, and holidays are done up big. We have been gathering on the Saturday before Easter every year for a brunch for as long as I can remember (which actually, might not have been as long as it sounds...since my mind is not quite what it use to be, but trust me..it's been a lot of years!)
This year the gathering was small. My sister, Jeanette, was hosting at her home in Hot Springs, but other obligations kept some folks away. It wound up being her and her hubby and 2 boys (Dalton and Max), my mom, and me with my 3 hoodlums kids. It didn't matter that our number was small, we still had a BIG time!!
Now let me tell ya...in case you haven't noticed, my family can put out a big spread, no matter how many of us there are. I'm sure you remember pics from Christmasses, Thankgsgivings and birthdays. Easter is no different. And Jeanette can cook!
Look at all this:

There was creme brulee french toast, asparagus w/ hollandaise sauce, eggs benedict, hashbrown casserole, ham, English tea biscuits (sorta), muffins (in the green container) and monkey bread.
Now that's some good eats!
The kids filled their plates and went to eat in the living room...

....while the adults ate at the table, and Max slept. It wasn't long tho til he woke up and the party REALLY began!

Did y'all eat without me?
That wasn't very nice!

YAAAY! We don't have to be quiet anymore!

Molly and Max

Gotta get my "Max and Aunt Rah-Rah" pic in!
Once he was good and awake and aware of all those who had invaded his home, it was time to let Max dye Easter Eggs.

Look Dad! Green fingers!
Oh yeh...we did let the other kids help dye eggs, too!

The waiting is the hardest part!

The finished product! Aren't they lovely?
Now that THAT fun was over, Max needed something to eat to build up his stamina for the big egg hunt!

Hey! What's this bunny doin on my foot?

Did I ask for carrots to be mixed in with my cereal??

Say! I do like carrots!
Finally...time to hunt for eggs.
Jeremy (Max's daddy, my BIL) and Trey (my 16 yr old son who deemed himself too grown up to hunt this year), hid about 11 dozen eggs in the yard. Of course some were set aside for Max to find. He was the only one in the "baby division" this year. But it was still fun to watch him look for (and try to eat) them!

FOUND ONE!

Hmmmmm...not as tasty as it looks!

Hey look! another one!

This one's a little better!
The big kids had fun hunting for their eggs, too. They were competing for a prize!

What are they doing out there?? Why isn't anyone paying attention to me?

Heh-heh-heh...he'll never find them. My daddy's a good egg hider!

Hmmm..what's this?

Forget those plastic eggs...I want the pinecones!
Soon it was time to count up their bounty...

WOO HOO!! Finders keepers, Losers weepers!
Matt came out the winner!

The day was not quite finished yet. We still had baskets from Granny Bunny to pass out to the kids. Of course the big kids tore into theirs before pics could be taken, but Max took his time examining all his goodies!

Mmmmmm..bites!
It was a wonderful family day. The weather was perfect-not to hot, not too cool...the kids all got along...the food was wonderful...what more could you ask for?
Oh yeh...all those that couldn't make it..I guess we could've asked for them to be there..but they know they were missed and we had a good time anyway!
I hope everyone's Easter weekend was as fun and successful as our's!

Y'all come back now...ya hear?

And I think I need the creme brulee french toast recipe. That sounds scrumptious!
I'm glad your Easter was so wonderful!
