Wedding Rings...check!

With 11 days left til marriage day (I still have a hard time saying "wedding day" since we aren't actually having a wedding), it was time to pick out rings.

We drove to the mall in the city (30 miles away) to see what Zales had to offer.
I'm a Zales girl....my daddy managed Zales stores from before I was born until I was 15 or so and he'd had enough of "business suits". I grew up in a Zales store, getting to clean the glass cases, learning to engrave my name on charms and bracelets that had defects in them...playing with the sizing rings.
I'm just loyal to Zales...as I am to Coca-Cola products, since my grandfather worked for them for 40+years..but that's a whole nother story.

Anyway...back to the rings...
I'd looked online at what Zales had to offer, before going to the store, and of course, none of the ones I liked (aka "in my price range") were there onhand.
But it was not a wasted trip. I did learn what width I preferred, what size Greg wore, and the difference in what a titanium ring vs. a sterling silver ring vs. a white gold ring looks and feels like.

After picking up supper from Arby's to take home (see..I told you it wasn't a wasted trip. We don't have Arby's in our smaller town), Greg and I got online and went back to the pages I'd previewed earlier. We were able to order our rings and stay pretty close to our estimated spending projection. Mine cost more than what *I'd* wanted to spend, but Greg didn't care. (but to be honest...if I wasn't so frugal, I could've picked out a much more expensive one that I really like...but I just can't justify spending that much money on a ring. We're talking BIG money.)

Here is what we got.
Mine...

It's 4 mm, 14k white gold. (we'd decided anything less than 3mm was too narrow, but more than 5mm would dwarf my finger and my engagement ring band is a 3mm.).

And this is what Greg picked out for himself.

Kinda different, but he really liked it.

Now..let's just hope they get here in time.
He's should be here in 2-3 days, but mine said possibly 7-10.
But surely FedEx will have it here before we say our vows!

So...I guess this is really happening.
My furniture is practically all over at his house.
My landlord is looking for another renter to replace me.
We've paid for the wedding rings, and set an appointment with the judge (who is a friend of our's and co-hosts the Football call in show on Greg's tv station each fall!)
One by one, the things on the To-do list are getting marked off.

It looks like my single days are numbered...and almost in the single digits!

I remember over 4 years ago when Richie and I were doing these same things...picking out rings, slowly but surely moving furniture to his place, and just getting our ducks in a row. It's an exciting time, even if there's no big wedding involved. I'm excited for you two. Just think, your kiddos will have to call you Mrs. Bobo next year. LOL
Peace & Love always,
~Barb~

Pretty! Congrats!
They're beautiful. And, after all, these rings are going to be with you a long time, so it's o.k. if they cost a little more than you thought.

Are you able to get away for awhile for a honeymoon?
oops, that was me, Nan. Sorry!
