Waitin on the spin cycle

It's 11:37pm and I'm up waiting on the washer to finish running so I can put those wet clothes into the dryer and go to bed. I always seem to be doing laundry at midnight! There's just not enough hours in the day to do everything I want and need to do.

Notice the distinction there...want AND need.
I NEED to do things like go to school (which is my job), and then tutor til 5pm or later, and then run any errands that have to be run, come home and make dinner....
and then of course there's laundry and picking up and helping with homework and grading papers, and showers and ...and...and...

but somewhere in there, somewhere in the course of the day, shouldn't I have just a a couple hours of "me" time? Time to just chill, relax, do whatever I want to do, even if it is to just do nothing?

I think so! Those are my Greg hours.
I fix dinner at my house, then we pack everything up, dog and all, and go over to Greg's house for our evenings. We usually just sit on the couch and watch tv after eating (and cleaning up the kitchen--me or him, but usually both), and it's nice...to just BE for a couple hours. Sometimes, if nothing is on tv, we will play dominoes, but whatever it is we are doing, it's my "me" time, or rather my "us" time.
Then...Molly and I pack stuff back up, grab the dog, and come back home to go to bed.

Well...SHE goes to bed. I do laundry...and clean up my kitchen if it needs it, and sack up the garbage to take out in the morning, and get my shower, and.... and...
Well, you get the picture.
So that's how I wind up doing laundry at midnight so often.

I know it will all change when we decide to get married.
Oh..wait, we've decided already to get married...just no definite date or ring or anything. But it's coming. And then this shuttling around 5 nights a week will end. (we don't go over there on Wednesdays or Sundays.)

But for now, it's ok. I, luckily, have never required much sleep, and it's well worth the time to just sit next to my hunny and laugh and cut up and just "be".

So...with that said, I think I heard the washer cut off, so off to the dryer it is...and then snuggling in the bed with my pup.

I seem to be always up late doing laundry, too! As a matter of fact, you reminded me I have clothes in the dryer.
We always need a little "me" time.

I go to bed with the dryer going almost every night. So much laundry so little time.

Hey, you should take the laundry with you and do it over there!

Sometimes hubby wants to watch a movie and I tell him he has to agree to stop the movie and let me flip flop the laundry.

But I've had more than my share of doing laundry late at night.
