Who did i piss off to get this job?

I promise I'm not purposely neglecting anyone...all these new blogs I'm reading and all my old(er) friends (not calling you old, mind you! :) ) I'll be sending out my Pay It Forward gifts this week...I promise!
I've just had not only my own plate full, but the helpings of several others piled on top, too.

But this, too, shall pass.

The annual Spaghetti Supper is now over.
I was actually looking forward to it...I love mingling with the public, talking to people, serving them....
but did that happen?
Nope. It did not.

I got stuck in the 2 worst stations last night.
The Drink Dungeon and Hell's Kitchen.

Now, one would think that manning the drinks would be fine. It's easy, you can talk to the public as they come to pick up their drinks...right?
Well..it WAS easy, but I got to talk to noone.
My Crown Club girls were so on top of their game that they were asking people what they wanted to drink and taking it to them.
So, I got to talk to not a single person (over the age of 12) the whole hour and a half I was at that station.

Then it was time to swap stations. I was sent to the dishwashing room.
Or Hell's Kitchen as I dubbed it.
I was scheduled to work in there all by myself for the next hour.
Me...
the one with the long hair it takes an hour to get rolled right.
With all that steam from the steralizing machine.
and all alone.

I tell ya..if it weren't for the help of a life member, who is also a friend of mine from school...I would not have made it.
There was no way one person could do that job alone. The two of us barely kept up.
And I burned my hands on hot pot handles as they'd come out of the sanitizing machine. Those things don't cool down very quickly.

So...no, Spaghetti Supper was not the social event for me it had been in the past. Me, the most social person, biggest talker, loudest mouth in the chapter, got stuck working alone (save for my friend), all night.
I wonder who I pissed off.

And of course, when you are the most busiest, everything else seems to fall apart around you.

My house has turned on me.

Thursday evening, in my meager attempts to pick up the house before my mother arrived for the weekend, my main bathroom flooded.

I got the inch of water all cleaned up, using every towel in the house, of course, and got them all in the washer, when that dang machine decided to betray me as well.
The drainage hose popped out and all the water drained into the laundry room floor.

It was not my night.
By 11:00 I was ready to throw in the towel...if I'd had a dry one to throw in, that is...and just give completely up.
But ...I perservered.

I chose instead to stave off sleep, which was so eagerly pressing upon me, and sit down and watch the 2 hour Grey's Anatomy premiere I'd dvr'd because the laundry was still going and would need to be flipped and because, more importantly, I knew that I would cry during it, and at that point..I needed a good cry.

And I did. cry that is. From the opening scene throughout most of the 2 shows.
And it felt good.
at 1:30 when I finished watching..I was cried out and felt so much better.
It worked.

So..now Mom is here (and the toilet overflowed on her while I was at Spaghetti Supper, which left a whole mess for me to clean up after I got home last night--but I figured out the problem and it's all under control now. Oh..and she inadvertanly knocked over my Scentsy plug in that was in the socket of the bathroom wall...which then spilled the hot scented wax all over my bathrrom wall and it splashed onto the mirror and ran down towards the floor behind the vanity as well.---JOY--)
But we'll deal with that later. At least it smells good!

Today is my 4 yr old neice's bday party in their town which is about 40 miles from here. Why they planned it for the same time as the Razorback Game, I'll never know.
I hope I don't accidentally call the Hogs when singing Happy Birthday.

Then we will pick up fixings for the grill...Greg said he'd bring the new grill I gave him for his bday over to my house tonight and grill while Mom is here. She loves that...Dad can't grill anymore due to his health.
Then tomorrow we'll go to church and I'll take her and Matthew back to Glenwood.

Hopefully I can finish watching the House premiere I dvr'd and tried to watch last night but fell asleep to so that I can erase it and make room on my dvd to record Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters. And Monday's House.

Monday will be another busy busy day.
Tutoring starts after school, then a JA meeting...which I may skip since my friend Cheryl invited us over for dinner while she's home from Kosovo where her hubby is a on the U.S.Judicial Review board. She moved over there with him last year and I've missed her!

Then it'll be unpacking all the school t-shirts that are coming in and getting them passed out...and, well..just life unfolding as it does.

I know I stay busy, but seriously...if I didn't, I'd be bored out of my mind.

I hope you all have a glorious weekend...and enjoy every minute of whatever it is you are doing!!

and Go HAWGS beat the Tide!
