Project 365: I survived the 1st week of school

A Picture a day for 365 days...a year's worth of fun!

Project 365 button designed by http://richgift.blogspot.com

I've been up all night with a sick stomach. Dunno what caused it, but it feels like someone has ahold of my intestines and is trying to wring them out like a wet washcloth. I can't sleep, so I thought I'd try to get my weekly update done inbetween trips to the bathroom. :P

THE LAST DAY OF PEACE AND QUIET
After church we stayed home and just enjoyed each others' company. All the kids were here, which means Alex's cats were as well. It's never a dull moment when they and Maggie get together.

PANIC DAY
Had to be at the high school by 8:30 for a "fun" day of listening to a motivational speaker and then to our superintendent go over test scores and legal issues...
Not Fun.
What made it even more interesting was that when I got ready to leave, I could not find my car key.
Not anywhere.
I had to walk to the high school b/c it was too late to call anyone to come get me.
Luckily, I live 1 block from there! :)
When the meeting was over, we found my key...in the car...in the BACK, where I'd laid it to unload groceries the night before. *PHEW*
Checked into getting another copy made....it'll cost more than $125.
Think I'll do a better job of keeping up with this one!

BACK TO SCHOOL LUNCH FOR OUR CAMPUS
Had a curriculum meeting all morning, then our principals provided lunch for us.
After that we had a couple hours to finish up our rooms and get ready to meet our students and their parents at Open House.
I had 17 out of 18 parents come....and 14 students.
It looked very promising!

AUGUST BIRTHDAY BASH DAY
yep..that's right, another birthday celebration for our family. This time we honored my now 11 yr old daughter, Molly...my now 15 yr old nephew, my SIL, and my daddy.

My 16 month old nephew was just too precious....

and my almost 5 yr old niece, who up until about 4 months ago was a "mommy and daddy's girl only" child, never wanting much to do with any of the aunts and uncles, decided this day that she was Auntie Rah-Rah's girl, and she wanted to go home with me.
My heart was so full of joy.....I can't even express how happy that made me.

*she always makes silly faces when you try to take her picture, so.....
we decided to make silly faces together!

And that leads us to today...where I sit with my tummy doing flip-flops over and over, hoping it stops soon b/c I really need to go spend about 4 hours in my classroom preparing for this next week. Or at least get enough ready for tomorrow!
I'll be up a creek if I can't...and will have to wing it major big time.

I hope you all had a great week as well...and a joyous upcoming one. Thank you for taking the time to share mine with me!

I am participating in the 2010 Mommytography 365 Project!
For this year long project I will be posting an image a day.
I am hoping this will...

• help me find new things around me to focus my attention on
• share my world with my friends and family more

Anyone interested in photography can join, no need to be a Mommytographer.

Wow...wish my principal had lunch and yummy cake for us as a welcome back! Glad to hear you had a great week and a great start to your school year. Mine not so much! I have had the hardest start to a school year in all of the years of teaching...started out with 29 kids with some really big problems. I am down to 23 but in the past 2 weeks I have been hit, kicked, scratched and spit at...not very much fun. Can only get better!

I so hope you get over your illness. It sucks being sick when you are trying to teach.

I go back tomorrow and my kids come on Thursday. I am excited but not at the same time. That cake looks pretty good.

Taking time today to visit all my fellow Mommytographers! I haven't been a good classmate in making the rounds, but I have enjoyed all the unique photos through my reader.

Great shots! I hope that you feel better, too.

Have a great week, Tamara
