Love is a many splendored thing

*It's been an interesting week.
More marriage talk, yet nothing "definite" yet.
The hint of a ring.....
throwing out dates....
but nothing concrete yet.
(I love you Greg)

*am learning to "Give it to God". He spoke, I heard, and I followed.
Am trusting in Him now to handle the issues.
(I love you, Lord)

Busy weekend.
*Reconnecting with people who have meant the world to me for the past 39 years, yet I just had not made the time to go see them. My "other grandparents" as I've always called them. These people loved my family, and took as in as their own, when we arrived in this state in the fall of 1970, far away from any biological family. My parents were a young couple with a 3 1/2 yr old (me), a 2 yr old, and a baby on the way. This family made us part of their own, and did all the grandparently things that our biologicals could not do due to distance.
I love these people, and having learned of her newly diagnosed diabetes, and his onset of Alzheimers has made me realize that my time with them is limited. They are in their 80s afterall. And as much as I don't want to say it outloud, I know they will not be around forever.

Mr Paul, Mrs Imogene...I love you!!

*Trey-my 16 yr old- was, against my wishes and vocal admonitions, allowed to go hunting yesterday by himself, in the woods, with his new rifle that he is, of course, not use to yet.
His dad thought he was mature enough...I agreed, but could only think of safety issues. I don't like the thought of ANYONE going out alone, especially on opening weekend with so many crazy gungho hunters out there.
Trey was instructed to check in by text every hour, everytime he left the deer stand for any reason, and everytime he made it back to the deer stand.
And he did. He's a good kid.
And half the world was praying for his safety, since I posted a request on Facebook!
And the prayers were heard and answered.
And he didn't even see a deer!

Of course there were other concerns..no mother likes getting a text from her child, who is alone in the woods, that reads, "Just saw a mountain lion."
Nope..didn't put my mind at ease at all.
But he survived, by the Grace of God!
And his father gets to live because he came home unharmed!
(I love you, Trey)

*and the latest Maggie funny....
my pup with the pantie obsession found herself backed into a corner yesterday morning, quite literally, going after a pair of Molly's undies that were in a hamper:

(oh how I love you, puppy!)

When is he going to ask?
that puppy is just too cute. What is it with puppies and panties?
So glad your son survived...that must have been super stressful.

My Dad was blessed with all girls, and as an avid hunter, he was determined to turn us into rifle wielding women. I shot a rifle once and the recoil knocked me backwards onto my fanny. That's all it took to "cure" my Dad of ever asking me to shoot again! I think my Mother was pleased.

Ha ha ha, yea, the dogs do love undies, don't they? Blech!!! Stupid dogs. Grosses me out!

Glad your "baby" made it back from hunting okay. =0)

I swear I commented on this already...I just know I did! Ugh! (Or did I read it in a blog email? Hmmm...) And since no update in days, I assume Greg has yet to officially pop the question, huh?
Whenever you mention Paul & Imogene, I picture my parents. Isn't that strange how they have the same names? Cool.
Peace & Love,
~Barb~
