Another "short" week

Project 365 button designed by http://richgift.blogspot.com

There were tons of pics on last week's entry, from all the snow we had.
I'll give you a break and not do so many this week.
It was still a busy week, but not as photoriffic.

PREP DAY

Spent the afternoon at school getting things ready for the week.
Funny how 5 hours can go by so quickly when the students aren't there.

RADIO DISNEY DAY

Our school was 1 of 16 schools in our state that the Radio Disney station chose to come visit. Their program of exercising was incorporated into this month's "Color Me" nutrition program and kids got to dance to songs the Disney stars sing (Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Jonas Brothers, etc...) Mickey and Minnie were there and the kids thought it was the "BEST COLOR ME EV-ER!!"

TOO BUSY TO TAKE A PICTURE DAY
I had a lot going on today...
I'm running a fundraiser, single handedly at school this week
It was Module Test day in Math
It was book study day after school (3:15-5:30)
AND..it was my turn to bring snacks for book study
so even tho there were ample opportunities and things to take pictures of... I just didn't.
So I offer you this for today:

MY BABY SISTER TURNS 40 DAY

ok. so this isn't a recent picture of her...but heck, she lives in Arizona, and I'm in Arkansas, so I couldn't actually get a picture of her today.
This picture was of her bday about...oh...34 years ago maybe? I'm thinking her 6th bday. That would be me over on the right...

GIRL'S DAY OUT

Molly and I hit the Louisiana Boardwalk in Bossier City (Shreveport) today for a little girl time and shopping.
It's about 100 miles from here, but so much fun.
Lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings
Riding the Carousel
Buying new shoes and jeans
Rockin' out to the 80s hair bands all the way home.

It was a much needed day.
But the thing that warmed my heart (besides Molly telling me several times how much fun she was having and thanking me for taking her) was when the carousel lady, (a 50ish african american woman), having watched us cutting up on the merry-go-round, taking pictures and such, asked if we were sisters. When I told her that no, I was Molly's mother, she was taken aback and said, "Now that's just beautiful. A mother and daughter having that much fun together and laughing together. You don't see that much anymore. That is wonderful."

Made me wonder about the state of society today if that is a reality.

So now that this "short week" is over (meaning only 4 school days)
hopefully I can get back into routine...and life won't be as chaotic.
