A New Year-- the first week in pics

Project 365 button designed by http://richgift.blogspot.com

Since completing the Project 365 picture a day thingy, I've realized that I did like having a picture to represent or show something from each day.
I know a lot of people used pics to represent something, but I tend to use my pictures as more of a journaling type exercise.
I'm a diarist, not a blogger...I can't help it.
I like jotting down what I did, and being able to go back and see what happened when.
This has proven quite helpful in my relationship with Greg..being able to go back and see when he was sick, when his heart episodes happened, ...the progression of our relationship, and the relationship with his mother!
And watching my children grow! That's a big plus, too!
So...I plan to continue TRYING to post a picture (or two, or five) for each day. Somedays I just get so busy I forget, then I try to find a pic I've taken and not used to represent that day...and that may probably still happen.
Ok..it PROBABLY will still happen.
But I'm gonna try to take a pic a day to journal my life!

So...here goes the first week of the new year.

EVER HAVE ONE OF THOSE DUH MOMENTS? Day
See...I bought this rake back a few months ago, for Molly to use when she and Greg are working in the yard. She kept complaining that the rake part wouldn't stay on the handle part, and could we glue it or something. So, FINALLY, Greg hunted up a screw, charged up his drill, and sat down to fix the rake, only to find, that when he turned it over.....There was a screw already provided, right above the little hole it needed to be screwed into!
DUH!

GIFT GIVING DOESNT END ON CHRISTMAS Day
My good friend and coworker has her classroom decorated in an M&Ms theme.
When we returned to school Monday, another teacher brought her this M&M display from her uncle's store. He had never even used it and was gonna throw it away, and she snagged it for Cynthia to put in her class!
Isn't it adorable?

WOOOOO PIG SOOOOIIIEEE Day
It was the day of the Sugar Bowl.
Razorbacks vs. Buckeyes
(that would be Arkansas vs. Ohio State, in case you didn't know)
We dressed in our Razorback colors and called the hogs several times throughout the day at school, then assembled outside at 2:00 for a "pep rally". (you may have seen the videos posted on facebook)
We had a good time at school with it, even if my Hogs did throw the game away.

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY Day
Had planned to have my boys here for the weekend, but the impending weather winter was predicted to start Sunday morning, and their dad and I decided that trying to get them back home might be too dangerous, so they stayed there and we stayed here.
Went to Walmart to get a few "storm supplies" and it was a madhouse. Worse than black friday! All the "staples" were running low, or already gone.

WAITING FOR WOOD Day
Waited all day for the wood delivery guy to come.
He finally did, and we were able to build the first fires of the new year!

And here we are...on Sunday again...and the winter weather has hit.
You'll be sure to see all the pics next week! :)

Oh, I SO WISH Arkansas would have beat the crud out of that snob school Ohio State. I hate those guys.

That M&M thing would be so much fun to have in my classroom.

I sure wish we still had our fireplaces now that the bad winter weather is hitting us. *sigh* Enjoy it, and your extra day off.
