DecJoMo 1:Random Things About Me

Well, since I totally missed NoJoMo in November, I thought I'd take the daily prompt and try to do it during December. I know....look at me, always trying to be different! But I really want to make time to write a little something everyday, and unless I'm doing a goal oriented type thing (like Project 365) I just don't always MAKE the time...so maybe this will help.

So..for my DecMoJo...I shall start with this:
Day 01- A recent picture of you and 15 interesting facts about yourself

This picture is from Thanksgiving last week. It's the most recent one I have.

Now...15 "interesting" facts about me, that you may not already know (which might be kinda hard since I use to do these kinds of things all the time..but I'll give it a shot):

1. Greg and I dated nearly 5 1/2 years before we got married.

2. As much as I thought I wanted to get married early in our relationship, by the time he proposed, I wasn't so sure. I'm very glad I did though. It's so much better this 2nd time around!

3. I was named after Roy Rogers and Dale Evans only biological child, Robin, who died of a heart defect when she was 2. (They'd been told to never have children due to their RH factors or whatever not being compatible. They adopted several children before they had her)

4. After picking out baby names while dating my exhusband, he would not let me change them when the time came. He would not waver. Trey and Molly's names were the ones we'd agreed upon years earlier. So, when I found out my 2nd child would be another boy, and not a girl, I got to pick his name all on my own. I loved the name Matthew, and his middle name is the same as my grandfather's who passed away when I was 19....Lander.

5. I have a hard time spending large amounts of money at one time...like, more than $35-40 at Walmart unless it's groceries, more than $20 on a pair of shoes, jeans, or more than $15-20 for a shirt, or more than $20-25 at a book store, or when ordering gifts.....I do it when I need to, but it's hard for me to spend it.

6. My mother deleted me as her facebook friend.

7. I'd rather be hot than cold. The old saying about "you can always add more clothes"...nope. Doesn't work for me. Once I get cold I'm miserable, much more so than when I get hot.

8. I don't feel fat, so it shocks me when I see myself in a full length mirror. I cannot believe that is how I look. I hate trying on clothes for this reason.

9. I love to sing. I've never felt confident about it tho, until recently. I've been asked to sing at several events lately and it has really boosted my confidence.

10. I can't believe I'm 43. I always thought it would be old. I don't feel old. But when I stop and realize that all these new 1st and 2nd year teachers are young enough to BE MY OWN CHILD...ohmydang...I can't believe I've been teaching 20 years and that I'm now one of the ones being "looked up to" in the way I use to look up to other teachers. SO WEIRD!

11. I will not decorate for Christmas before Thanksgiving. It's just wrong.

12. I also do not listen to Christmas before Thanksgiving. But after Dec 1...I listen to a LOT of it til Christmas Day.

13. The first 2 Christmas cds I ALWAYS listen to...ALWAYs first, are Amy Grant's first one, and Steve Green's Joy one. My Christmas season starts off her "Tender Tennessee Christmas" and his "Messiah Medley"....every year...always!

14. I've lost over 15 pounds since school started. Was suppose to go weigh in today, but had to cancel. Haven't weighed at home since my appointment 4 weeks ago.

15. As much as we watch shows like "America's Iron Chef", and "Chopped", and "Next Food Network Star", I canNOT stand to see them cut up a fish. The chopping off the head and slicing it open and gutting it. EWWWWWW....I have to cover my eyes anytime they pull out a fish to start working with!

Well, there ya go. 15 newerish things about me. Don't I sound exciting?

What a fun post! I'm with you on the fish!

What a lovely picture of you and your husband! You are soooo gorgeous!

That would be a great photo to put in the Christmas cards.
