H i s for Home is where there's Hope

Today is Alphabee-Thursday. That means my blog is brought to you by the letter H.

is for

Hope
What a great name for a hometown.

I was all set to do my H post on "Home is where the Heart is"...and share the different places I've lived, but then I got to thinking about where I am right now.

I grew up in Hot Springs, Arkansas...spent ages 3-22 there. Lived a few other places in the next 5 years, settled outside of Hot Springs, for 10 years, and then came to Hope.
After a divorce and sense of not knowing who I was in this world, God took me to a "little place called Hope" (as a former president was known for saying.)

Hope

What a great word.
What a great feeling.
What a great town.

It was in Hope that I found myself. That I became myself. That I realized I was right where I was meant to be.

This little town of 10,000 or so is not the richest. It's not the most politically correct. It's not one of the top 10 best places to live...but it's home.

It's given us a president, a governor/presidential hopeful (who happens to be a friend of my boyfriend), and it's shown the world that you don't have to be big to be great.

Hope is where the Home is...where MY home is.

It's where I'm raising my children, (at least part of the time).
It's where I plan on marrying my love.
It's where I will be when I retire.
It's most likely where my physical body will spend eternity.

Hope...noun
1.the feeling that what is wanted can be had or that events will turn out for the best.

yes..Hope is where the Heart is.
At least MY heart!

What a lovely tribute to your town. Hope is such a wonderful word, and it sounds like a wonderful town. My post is on my birthplace. I had forgotten how much I really love that place, and I haven't lived there in 40+ years. Have a wonderful day. Kathy

I've been to Hope. I stopped on my way home one year. Everyone was very nice. I went into the post office to have some postcards postmarked Hope. I think I went into the train station. Isn't that the welcome center? It was some years back and I'm trying to remember. I also took some pictures around town. Wasn't there too long because I wanted to get home and was by myself. I still believe in a place called Hope. :)

I've always wished to live in a small town, especially one like the one you describe here. You're very fortunate, but I take it you know that!
