One Thing Leads to Another
As is oft in life...my best laid plans were changed!
As I'm driving to Glenwood Friday afternoon to be there in time for Tre's 5:30 ballgame, I get a text from him.
"Twisted my knee at practice. Not playing 2nte. Can we still go to the game plz plz plz?"
Well of course... that's the way my life works!
I get to Glenwood...Trey's knee is swollen and he's hobbling around, but still wanting to go socialize, so I wasn't tooooo worried about it. We loaded up and went for his game, and NATURALLY his team won this one...by a long shot! 48-12. With that big of a lead, Trey would've gotten to play had he not been injured!!
GAH! always my luck. The one game I get to...the one out of 3 games he could've played in...and he's hurt!
*ugh*
anyway...i got to meet his best friend (who I really have known since they were 4, but the boy didn't remember) and the boy's g/f that texts Trey all the time! They came over and sat down next to me and started visiting...it was so cool! My first real "teen mom experience".
The girl later texted Trey that I was pretty. That made me feel good!
*don't ask me why...it just did*
So..afterwards, I took the kids out for pizza at the local place. I love their specialty...4 meats triple cheese. YUM
Then we took my mom back to her house and came on home.
Saturday I'd planned on letting the boys hang at the mall for an hour while I got my mani/pedi that had been given to me as a gift.
But with Trey's knee, he didn't want to be walking all over the place, so we rented a couple movies and they stayed home. Molly and I headed to Texarkana for what I thought would be just a few hours.
It turned into an all day event.
The mani/pedi only took about an hour. I now have pretty nails.

Then we decided to stop by the Vision place to see if we could get Molly's eyes checked and get her some glasses. They take walk-ins..but they were packed. We exited and went next door to PayLess to try and find Molly some new tennis shoes. We left there with 2 pairs of shoes for her...big sale!
Target was on the other side of PayLess, so we went in "just to see what they had".
We found a bathing suit for Molly, a videogame for Matt, and a couple of cds of classic rock collections for me. Trey had mentioned a cd he wanted but they didn't have it so we trotted on over to Walmart to find it there.
We picked up somethings for supper there, still couldn't find the cd Trey wanted, and were starting to get hungry (it was after 1pm) so we decided to head over towards the mall, eat, and look there.
Arby's called our name. MMMMM...beef and cheddar!
The FYE store in the mall closed down last week, which I knew, but what I didn't realize is that it was the ONLY music store in the mall.
BOO. We still didn't have the cd Trey wanted.
Not yet defeated...we came back to Hope to look at our Walmart.
BINGO! found it.
We got the rest of what we needed for dinner (Greg sent money to get it all so we could grill burgers and dogs) and made it back home by 4:30.
My dogs were barkin! lol
We piddled around a bit, made some cookies to have for dessert...Greg called about 6:00 and said he'd just walked in, so we took back the boys' movies and made our way to his house by 7ish.
What a day!
Today, Molly and I got up for church but came home after Sunday School. I'd let the boys stay home..lots of stairs for Trey to climb.
Been doing laundry and trying to get Molly to clean her room. We were given a big bag of clothes for her that a friend's daughter had outgrown. I asked Molly to put them away and you would've thought I'd asked her to build a new World Trade Center. Oh My Gosh! The carrying on that girl did.
She fussed and she whined...and she begged me to come help her (which was really a ploy to do it for her.)
I told her that she could take care of it herself...and a few minutes later, as I was going to flip the laundry...I found this attached to her door.
*in case you can't read it, it says "Leave me alone cuz you hate me, but you love Matthew and Trey, but you hate me!! xoxo,Molly" *
Drama much?
Welcome to my world of Molly not getting what she wants!
I just ignored it...fixed lunch...and she got over herself.
It's best that way! I learned long ago that if I give in and try to tell her that I don't hate her, I love her, yadda yadda yadda..it just makes it worse and drags it out longer.
So...
that's been my weekend.
John will be here any minute to get Trey. He's going to a superbowl party at his church in Glenwood. We will go to Greg's for awhile during the game. I'm not really excited about either team this year, but my sister is a big Cardinals fan (since she lives right there and goes to a few of their games each season), so I am pulling for them. Trey is for the Steelers, and truth be told, if it weren't for Shelli, I would be, too, prolly.
So...that's me.
I've got a busy busy week...school, tutoring, and after school meetings everyday til Friday...then booking it back to Glenwood Friday to take the kids and hopefully watch a ballgame!
Greg and I are planning on going out for our anniversary on Saturday...but you know my life...that's subject to change!
I hope you all have a wonderful last day of the weekend!
