Recouperating and Planning Ahead


Spent last weekend in Nebraska, for a funeral.
My aunt passed away after a fight with uterine cancer.
It was good to see family up there...but I hated it was for that reason.

Got home Tuesday night and tried to play "catch up" at school.

Thursday was "Color Me White" day at school..white foods and an emphasis on dental health.

It was also Valentine delivery day for my Crown Club girls. We took homemade valentines to a nursing home and an assisted living facility. They really enjoyed that. (Crown Club is my service of Junior Auxiliary...our daughters, learning how to be community minded and civically oriented. They age from 3-14 in our group.)

Friday was Valentines parties at school and a family dinner at mom's with everyone there.

Saturday was our family day in Texarkana for Valentines. We found the Rockband game for our PS2 finally...so I got it for the kids.
I'm now officially "Mother of the Year"!!

Had a date Saturday night with Greg at the Outback..good food, good company. A nice valentine's date.

Today we are cleaning and then picking up all the Girl Scout Cookies we sold. Have to get them ready for delivery.

Monday is Dentist appointments.
Tuesday is school and tutoring.
Wednesday is school and church/choir practice.
Thursday is an all day meeting in Arkadelphia, PTO meeting, then going to spend the night at mom's.
Friday is the beginning of a girlie weekend in Oklahoma City. Molly and I and a couple of friends and their daughters!! I cannot wait!

so much to do...but I always get it done!

It's sure better than being bored!

I'm glad to see you posting here. I had hoped that blogs would give us a way to stay in touch but you never post and you never read mine, either. *sigh*

You tire me just reading all that you do!

You do sound busy! Crown Club sounds like a neat thing to do. I'm always looking for ways to teach my girls to serve. Have fun on your girlie weekend!

Today is Alphabe-Thursday. That means my blog is brought to you by the letter C...so let's get right down to it. is for ahhh...the simplicity of crayons! An essential tool in my profession, and yet such a vital part of our lives. Crayons have the ability to color our world. They add life to simple drawings, brighten up the darkest of pictures, and create rainbows on rainy days. After completing a writing assignment my students will often ask...."Do we have to draw a picture?" "Of course you do!! And use your crayons!" I will reply. And then the real feelings of their topic show through. Without color, how dull our lives would be. No yellow sunshiny days. No pink cotton candy. No blue skies and green grass. Lollipops would be tasteless and lemonade would be just water. The fashion industry would go bust and movies would not be worth seeing. Crayons add life. They add spirit. And they make me smile.
