~New Year's Eve



As the year draws to a close, I look back over all the things that have happened. The good, the bad, the ugly...

and in trying to recapture some of the memories, my "year in review" entry is waxing long. I started working on it yesterday and will post it tomorrow..after I do a little more editing on it.

But for now I simply ask you this...How are you spending New Year's Eve?

Me? I'm not sure yet. I figure the usual trip to the Outback and then sitting on Greg's couch watching tv and making out. That's what we've done the past 3 or 4 NYEs. But now I'm not sure.
He was sick yesterday...violently ill.....so I guess we'll just have to see how he feels today.

I wish there were parties to go to. I love parties. But we've not been invited to any, nor know of any to crash, so I doubt the party scene will be our's.

I sure could use a good party.

But what about you? ...what are you and your loved one(s) doing to ring in the new year? Let me live vicariously through you just for a moment, and share!!

I wonder how fun it'll be making out through one of those medical shields - ha! My husband is sick so I suspect there'll be a whole lot of nothin' going on around here...including going out to dinner. Sigh. OK, pick me up! I'll go to Outback with you! Happy New Year!

We are having a party with some great friends at their house. I am making all the desserts (which I LOVE to do) and she is making everything else...a Cajun chef from New Orleans...YUMMMMMM.

So..it's a new year. And I haven't posted here since..umm..May. I have been thinking of deleting this blog..or at least all the entries in it, and starting over. Maybe a school blog. I see tons of cute ones everyday when I'm perusing pinterest. I could do that. maybe. no...probably not. But I might try. This place did not turn out the way I wanted it to. Today is Alphabe-Thursday. That means my blog is brought to you by the letter C...so let's get right down to it. is for ahhh...the simplicity of crayons! An essential tool in my profession, and yet such a vital part of our lives. Crayons have the ability to color our world. They add life to simple drawings, brighten up the darkest of pictures, and create rainbows on rainy days. After completing a writing assignment my students will often ask...."Do we have to draw a picture?" "Of course you do!! And use your crayons!" I will reply. And then the real feelings of their topic show through. Without color, how dull our lives would be. No yellow sunshiny days. No pink cotton candy. No blue skies and green grass. Lollipops would be tasteless and lemonade would be just water. The fashion industry would go bust and movies would not be worth seeing. Crayons add life. They add spirit. And they make me smile.
