On Holiday Break--so when does the "break" part begin?
Wow...seems like I'm only getting over here to post once a week anymore. Luckily noone is dying to know what's going on in my life...since most of you are also on Facebook with me!
Like the title asks...if we are now on Christmas Break, when does the break begin? This was an uber busy weekend.
*shopped from 9am til 6:30pm yesterday (Saturday). Greg came over and met me in Texarkana about 3:15 and we got his shopping done, too, then picked up food at The Outback and took it home. Watched "Inglorious Basturds". It was ok...long...disturbing in some parts (graphic violence), funny in some parts (Brad Pitt's character was funny.)
*today was our Christmas Cantata at church. After waking up with a sore throat I managed to sound ok anyway.
Afterwards, took the Durango in for an oil changed, found the boots for Molly I couldn't find in 3 different stores yesterday, and spent 4 hours wrapping gifts.
Won't the kids be surprised when they open up socks and underwear I bought them! LOL
*tomorrow (Monday) morning is Trey's surgery. Have to be there at 9:30am. Surgery is at 11:00 I think.
If they have to open him up, he'll have to stay overnight.
If they can do it all laproscopically, then he can go home.
I'll stay in Glenwood for the night, then bring all 3 kids back with me Tuesday.
Mom's already slated me in for a Christmas Party with her friends Monday night while I'm there.
*Wednesday--grocery shopping for the holiday weekend.
Greg offered to cook a brisket and bring it to my mom's on Saturday when we go. He also wants to take chocolate bacon for them to try.
Maggie is getting groomed on Wednesday also. Her hair is all matted up in places. I'm afraid they will have to shave her all over. :(
*Thursday, Christmas Eve....grocery shopping for dinner with the kids. Our tradition, you may not remember, is for each person to pick one thing they want for dinner...anything, and we put it all together and that's our meal on Christmas Eve.
We also have a candlelight service at church that night.
*Friday=Christmas
thinking about, if Trey is up to it, taking the kids to the movies Friday afternoon. We've never done that before.
Friday night will be Christmas at Greg's house.
Plus he'll have to start the brisket cooking all night.
*Saturday--family brunch at Mom's.
Then the kids stay in Glenwood for a week. Trey is going to my brother's house for the week after Christmas to go to the Independence Bowl with them.
I guess I'll get a "break" that next week. Mostly cleaning house that week tho.
and now...a few random pics from my week.

took my 1st graders caroling at 2 nursing homes Thursday morning. They loved it and they interacted with the elderly people there. It was a lot of fun.

KISS M&Ms my teacher friend at school brought me. She knows I love KISS.

The Willow Tree nativity set I want. I have the main pieces in the middle, but want the creche, shepherds, and wisemen to go with it.

The Sesame Street coffee table book I saw at Books-a-Million yesterday. I would LOVE to have it, too! It tells about every actor, character, muppet....shows, guest stars...for the whole 40 years.
As someone who watched the very first episode that aired, Sesame Street was a big part of my childhood.
Ok..guess that's all for now.
Please remember my son Trey in your prayers or thoughts tomorrow morning (Monday). He's having his shoulder surgery. He's nervous, and we have to travel to Hot Springs (75 miles or so), and the doctors don't know yet what they are looking for, and won't until they see it.
Thank you!
