Christmas Eve

I've been sitting here trying to read and catch up...but there are so many of you, and you all write so often...I've about decided it's hopeless!

I also realized that I have not posted a single Christmassy thing this year. No surveys, no trivia, no song games...nada!
Guess that shows how much Christmas spirit I've had this year, huh?
:(

I think I'm not doing a very good job of keeping up with life. It seems the few minutes of "me time" I do get, I'm trying to catch up with others, and it's usually via Facebook. At least we have that!

I spend my time here "catching up" more often than not...and not really getting to know what's going on with all of you. I feel like such a bad friend. Maybe next week, when the kids are gone and Christmas is over and I have several days to myself, I can sit here and read and read and finally find out what's been going on in your lives that I've missed out on. It's not that I don't care anymore..I do! I just don't seem to be able to balance my time well lately.

For those that have asked...Trey's surgery went pretty well.

It took longer than expected b/c they wound up having to open him up and do some reconstruction. Something about the muscle that holds up the sack (?) is genetically too weak, so they cut it and folded it over and stitched/pinned it together in 3 places to form a "cup" or something to hold his shoulder in place. I'm not sure of all the technical stuff. All I know is that he has 13 staples, and stitches on the front and back where they did the laproscopic holes first.
(I won't show a pic...cuz it's really gross)

And that it hurts. He tells me that all the time. Actually, the place where they injected him for the nerve block hurts a lot, too.
And his arm and wrist throb..prolly from lack of ciruculation.
He is not allowed to move his arm away from his body except to wash under it, apply deoderant, and put a shirt on. There are some therapy movements he has to do with letting the arm hang and moving his body in a swaying motion, I think to get blood flowing, and to let gravity pull on it a little...but he will start Physical Therapy in a month.
He hurts.
He is just laying around a lot...napping when he can.
But he's in good spirits.
Atho he did ask me to take the M&Ms somewhere today, so he could get a nap!

Maggie got "groomed" yesterday. Shaved is more like it. Now she looks like a freakin poodle. (and you know I'm no fan of poodles. Nothing personal..just not my fave look for a dog!)
but her fur was matted up on her legs and behind her ears...so they had to shave her. I hope it grows back quickly! We will definitely be brushing her more so that matting thing doesn't happen again!

(I'm so embarrassed)

I got her a little coat to wear...it helps with her looks!

I guess I'll take the kids to a movie today to let Trey have some quiet time. It's raining cats and dogs here tho. Santa may need to ride in on an ark!

Matthew has been counting the hours til Christmas Eve since he got here Tuesday. All day yesterday it was "I wish tonight was Christmas Eve." "I wish we could open a present tonight". "I really want to open up my presents!"
He's driving me nuts!!

We usually open one gift on Christmas Eve, but last year we decided to open all the gifts under the tree, and then just have Santa for Christmas morning. May do that again..not sure yet.

Ok..guess I better get some things done around here if I'm gonna be out later.

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas! May the joy that this holiday commemorates fill your hearts and lives with peace and love!

Never apologize for not having BLOG TIME for "us".... we're fiftieth-ary. (I was gonna say secondary, but we're so much further down the line.)

God, Family, and real life always come first. We're the "spare time gang" out here in Blogland! We're what you do when you're bored, not what you MAKE TIME FOR. =0)

Besides, we'll all still be here when you need us! For now, LIFE is calling your name and you gotta go with it, Hon!

Hope y'all have a very Merry Christmas, hope Trey keeps feeling BETTER and FAST, and hope you get bored soon so you can stop by and see my new picture. ha ha ha

{{hugs my friend}}
