Long time gone!...Hi, Remember me?

I realized last night that it's been about a month since the last time I posted anything. I was in the routine of sitting down every Sunday morning and sharing my week here, but I guess I got busy on ummm....let's see...March 20th, and didn't make it...and then when I remember thinking, "I'll just do 2 weeks in one"...but that didn't happen. Then I see that only 1 person even commented on that entry...so I must not have been missed and that made it hard to come back and post...

But here I am...gonna try and catch up on my life, if for noone else but myself.
Not even gonna attempt to do a day-by-day blow of the past 4 weeks, just an overview, to look back and see where I've been.

March 20-26
SPRING BREAK/MY BIRTHDAY WEEK
Matthew was here with me, by himself, no brother or sister, for the first half of Spring Break.
We did some cleaning.(and found two attics we didn't know we had)

We did some eating out.

We did some bowling. (We may not be very good, but we had fun!)

We did some shopping. (Found a clearance sale..tshirts, sweatshirts, and even some men's swim trunks and jackets all for $1 each! The boys racked up!)

Then he went back to his dad's and from Wednesday night-Friday night, it was just me and the hubs.
He took me to Shreveport for my birthday...an overnight trip.
We did the Boardwalk, and did a little TGIFriday's and shopping.
Nothing extravagant. Just good to get away for a night.

my bday present:

March 27-April 2
BACK TO SCHOOL
This week was full of fun...
We had "Color Me Mexico" as part of our nutrition grant program.

The kids got to taste salsa, guacamole, and peppers.
One student discovers she LIKES salsa and subsequently got her Japanese mother to start buying it for her!

We also did a Stone Soup activity.
The kids loved making soup with a (well washed) stone it it...and most even ate it!

April 3-9
TESTING WEEK
We started out with a bang...literally...on our first day of testing.
Nothing like having to interrupt coloring in all those bubbles with having to crawl under your desks and assume the position for 20 minutes while tornados and high winds/rain whizz by!
But we survived that..and the rest of the week, and celebrated with a PASTA PARTY!

April 10-16
SLOW WEEK---BUSY WEEKEND
Molly had career day this week, and dressed up as a "fashion designer" (picked out her own outfit b/c "Mama..I've got FASHION!"

I also got a brush with fame (again) by being retweeted/replied to on Twitter by Chef Anne Burrell from The Food Network.

Saturday was a very busy day.
The afternoon was spent at the Bill Clinton Birthhome Recognition Ceremony.
The former president/governor/son of our town was present as the National Parks and Services honored his home by making it one of their National Sites.
I got to run around taking pictures with my press pass...which was kinda fun,

(Secretary of the Interior, Ken Salazar, and Bill...whom I've seen many times since he first ran for governor of our state when I was a kid and would speak at functions my dad had. His mother and my dad were friends back when I was growing up in Hot Springs.)

and some of my students got to be onstage with the former president to lead in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Then later that evening, it was our Junior Auxiliary's Glow Golf tournament.
Riding around in a golf cart, zipping across the greens in the chilly weather was quite fun, and we raised about $3000 for our organization.

(My chauffeur for the evening!)

April 17-23
SPRING IS IN THE AIR
The MIL got a new grill so we took it for a test run for Sunday's dinner.
(which means Greg got to cook!)

and we've enjoyed watching spring bust out all over, despite the temps dropping back down from the high 70s and 80s of last week, to cool, chilly, rainy 50s this week.

of course that means needing more of this...

but that's the price you pay to enjoy Mother Nature around here.

And well...that pretty much wraps up the past month in my life.
As usual, I stay busy with school, JA, and kids.

Today is Good Friday...a day out of school.
I've got lots of JA paperwork to catch up as we are winding down our fiscal year, but I think it shall wait til tomorrow.
I feel the call of the mall coming from Texarkana...a good day to spend with my daughter.
Work can wait!

Happy Easter to you all...
whether you celebrate it as the Reason for the Season or the Earth's fertile season, I hope it's a happy one.

I'm glad to see you post again...I've missed you on here. FB is good, no doubt, but so much more can be said in blog posts.
Matthew has grown up so much!
For that matter, so has Molly. ;)
Bill looks good...really good! lol
I love you, girlie!
