Project 365: getting ALL caught up!
A Picture a day for 365 days...a year's worth of fun!

Ok..I need to catch up a week, especially since I'm leaving tomorrow for a school conference in Las Vegas and will be gone all week...so, I'll get all caught up and then do another catch up when I get back, and then MAYBE I'll be back on schedule!
How's that?
When I last shared, we were up to Sunday, July 4th. The last day of family reunion. So this is what has happened since:

Monday-July 5
DRIVING HOME FROM THE REUNION DAY
We left KY about 7am and made it to the kids' dad's house about 4pm and then to my own by 5:30. My oldest son was able to help me drive and did over half of it I think. It's so great to have a driving buddy again after years of doing it alone!
One thing we found along the way that may have helped him...
this energy drink...but look at the warning on the back! PRICELESS!

Tuesday-July 6
QUIET DAY!
The kids were gone...hubby went to work....I don't think I did much of anything.
Oh...I took the dog for her walk, (she was most happy to have me home) and picked up..did laundry, the usual...but nope...pretty much a relaxing day.
EXCEPT...except for one panicked phone call from my 12 year old son who was now at his dad's, 75 miles away, and could.not.find.his.XBOX 360 CONTROLLER!!!!!!
Yes...this little thing here was freaking him out.
Luckily, he'd left it here, at my house, and not in Kentucky 500 miles away!
Once he had verification, via phone pic texted to him, that I WAS in possession of it, all was right in his world again!

PICTURE DAY
I started uploading pics from vacation!
That took me about 3 days! By the time I got all the pics from family that were sharing them, organized them, got them uploaded into albums and shared on Facebook....it was an undertaking.
Plus..my family always likes me to do these "write up" things..kinda like I this entry here...with all the pictures telling the story of the event. It took me quite a few days to do all that.
(notice the lovely purple line going down my monitor...that is courtesy of my daughter, who accidentally knocked the monitor over during the move. It started as a little "scratch" like thing, (altho you can't feel it) and now extends the length (or is it width) of my screen...from top to bottom. Kinda annoying at first, but then you get use to it.)

DATE NIGHT
Hubby decided that since it was our last kid-free night (since his son would be returning home for the weekend) we should go out..and who am I to argue?
Red Lobster it was!
a little shrimp scampi and coconut shrimp for me
and a lobster tail, crablegs, and shrimp for him.
YUM!

KIDS RETURN HOME DAY
It was a nice quiet day but didn't stay that way, as all 4 kids were returning home that night. Scratch that...only 3. My oldest son asked to stay at his dad's to "have a break from the M&Ms (his bro and sis) and spend time with his dad alone.)
Molly had been in Bible School all week, and the boys had been helpers there, so I went to the end of the week program Friday night and then brought the M&Ms home with me.

Saturday-July 10
The "WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO TODAY?" day
I get a lot of these during the summer! Kids think they have to be entertained every second of everyday.
But guess what? WE DID NOTHING!
BWAHAHAHA!!! evil mom that I am.
We just stuck it out around the house, until suppertime. Then we grilled burgers and hotdogs for dinner.
Now THAT'S eating good in the neighborhood, I don't care who ya are!

Sunday-July 11
MOVIE DOUBLE FEATURE DAY
Since we'd done nothing on Saturday, we treated ourselves to a little fun on Sunday.
I took the M&Ms to see not one, but TWO movies!
We started with "Grown Ups", and we thoroughly enjoyed it, but I was a little disappointed in the judgement of some people I trusted when they said "totally suitable for kids". It was "ok"...but there were some sexually innuendo'ed parts that I was not thrilled with. I think they went over my kids' heads..but still...
Our second movie choice was "Despicable Me". A better choice for my kids, in my opinion, and really cute.
Inbetween our 2 theatrical choices we had time to scarf down some Taco Bell.
Gotta love the $2 menu!

THANK YOU CARD DAY
Today we wrote thank you cards to my grandmother and all her sisters, and my cousins who live up there in Kentucky, thanking them for all the hard work they put into making our Reunion so wonderful.
*Molly puts stamps on the cards on the way to the post office*

Tuesday-July 13
SWEET TOOTH DAY
I got a hankerin' to make things today, so I decided to surprise hubby with one of his favorite treats...
peanutbutter cornflake bars
and make a special dessert for the kids that I don't make often
banana pudding
They were all most appreciative!

Wednesday-July 14
CULINARY SKILLS DAY (errr.night rather)
We decided to make omelettes for dinner on this night and Molly, who has gotten sucked into The Food Network with us (I have this secret addiction to Alton Brown) decided she wanted to "plate" the food for us.

SUMMER SCHOOL DAY
I was really bummed out when I found out I wouldn't get to teach Summer School this year, but as it has turned out, it was just as well. I did get put on the substitute list, and I got 2 calls to come sub yesterday. Of course I could only do 1 class, but it was fun.
Shortly after I got home, the kids' dad was here to take the back to his place to spend the week (or 10 days I think) since I'm leaving for my trip on Saturday, so the house wound up being quiet again. Hubby came home, we ordered out Mexican, and just "vegged".
*me on our ugly couch that I hope to replace pretty soon!*
pay no attention to the unkempt hair...I was RELAXING! lol
So..that's what I'VE been up to lately...all that.
Today I'm going ot lunch with a friend I haven't seen since school got out, then coming home to pack for VEGAS!!! I leave in the morning (Saturday) and won't be back until the wee hours of next Friday morning, thanks to a late arrival time.
I hope you all have a wonderful week...I'll check back in upon my return, with TONS of pics to share!! (cuz what happens in Vegas, may not always stay in Vegas! LOL)
I am participating in the 2010 Mommytography 365 Project!
For this year long project I will be posting an image a day.
I am hoping this will...
• help me find new things around me to focus my attention on
• share my world with my friends and family more
Anyone interested in photography can join, no need to be a Mommytographer.

Comments
Who am I kidding? I am always hungry.
Despicable Me was the best movie I have seen all year - adult or kid movie. I laughed through the entire thing.
And as a city boy I am somewhat offended.
