Summer School Daze

Yep...3 weeks of summer school.
full days...7:30-3:30, but we have Fridays off.
I'm a bit worried. It seems I've got several "special needs" kids.
I don't do "special needs". Not the physical needs anyway.
I have a really hard time with it...it's like with old people..they just kinda freak me out.
I can handle other "special needs"...autistic, Down's, MR....but the physical needs, the drooling and spastic movements and uncomprehendable speech....I'm just not good with that.
And here I am admitting it and hoping noone thinks less of me...
but that's how it is.

The 4th of July has come and gone again...another sign that summer is slipping away.
Greg made a brisket, and we cooked corn on the cob in the oven, still in the husk..OMG! so good.
there was other stuff, too, but the corn was the best!
We went out to the Methodist Church for a big fireworks display. It was pretty. Sat with my friend Pam and her family. (Pam from JA and one of my asst. principals) There are a couple pics on FB that she posted and tagged.
I only bought about $10 worth of fireworks, but it kept the kids busy for about half an hour.

When I got up this morning to go walking, it had been raining, so that made it nice and cooler. I'd only gotten about a mile in tho when the bottom fell out and drenched me.
I came home, showered, and the kids were still crashed, so I let them sleep. We missed Sunday School, but Molly woke up and wanted to go to "big church", so we did. After we went to the visitation for the brother of Molly's friend who was killed in a car accident Wednesday.
I came home and took Trey's face in my hands and told him point blank that he better NEVER put me in that position of having to stand next to his coffin b/c he had been driving stupidly. He promised he wouldn't, and I said, "I'm serious! I can't do that. Not for something like careless driving. You WILL be careful when you start driving without me. You WILL be cautious and pay attention when you are out on the roads b/c I do NOT want to have to bury you for something like that."
I hope he will remember that.
After that, I dozed off while watching Gene Simmons' Family Jewels.
Then I got up and went back to school for another hour and a half to try and get ready for tomorrow. I worked up there 4 days last week...and I'm still not ready ...so we'll be flying by the seats of our pants tomorrow! But that's ok. I can wing it.
Then I'll have to go the bank and get everything straightened out with my bank account. GRRRRRRRR. They better fix it.

It's hard to do it on your own. I refused AM workouts when Andres would suggest it. But now I intend to make it a regular practice. I love having it out of the way.
Also, you sound sad that summer's halfway through. I'm THRILLED! LOL
I love me some fall.
