It's been...one week since you looked at me....

I realized it's been 3 weeks since I last wrote.
July 8, when I was complaining about the bank, and the stuff I didn't like about my new car, and having to change classes st summer school b/c they were laying carpet in my room.

A lot has happened since then...but really, notsomuch.
KWIM?

Of course we left that next day, July 9, for Nebraska.
I've just finished the last of the vacation entries at my other site that is easier to use with pics. I also put some on Facebook.
I was so excited that I've advanced enough to now put videos into them! *pause for proud moment*

It was a good trip. One friend commented that I "always have the best vacations." It took me aback for a minute. My first thought was, "no I don't. We didn't go anywhere special or anything (like Disney or Six Flags or Mt. Rushmore....). But then I realized that yes, I do try to make the most of wherever we are.
I guess I just want my kids to experience as much as possible and have wonderful memories of their childhood.

Since returning, I've gone back to Summer School...today being the last day, I've been home alone these last 10 days...I've cleaned carpets, rearranged furniture, taken Maggie to the vet for her last set of shots and had her nails clipped, bought stuff for school, bought Molly's bday presents, worked in my classroom, and spent about 2-3 hours each night at Greg's watching tv and relaxing.
Not much cooking. Not much of anything else really.

It's been kinda nice.
But tonight I'll bring the M&Ms home and things will liven up.

I've not put their stuff back from moving it when I cleaned carpets last weekend.
I'm gonna let them help do that.

I'm hoping we can go to the pool tomorrow, too..and maybe to Txkna Saturday. Or vice versa.
I don't know if they want to see Harry Potter or not. Trey does, but he's not coming down this weekend. He wants to stay at his dads, without all the distractions, and work on his AP Biology and AP English projects that are due when school starts.

He goes back today for a 2 week checkup on his shoulder, too. I'm anxiously awaiting the outcome of that.

Let's see..what else?
Next week the M&Ms have a church outing on Tuesday (a picnic and trip to see the new Ice Age movie.)
I have an inservice on Thursday.
The rest of the week is our's to enjoy.

Molly will be baptized on that following Sunday, Aug 2.
Her bday is Aug 4th. She's requested a "mommy and me" day instead of a slumber party or birthday party.
We'll go eat, maybe a movie if anything is playing she can see, and shop for school uniforms.

I can't believe my kids want "mommy and me" days for their birthdays so much. I'm glad....no big party stress....and it's nice to get to spend one on one time with them.
Just surprises me.

Not much else going on.
My aunt, uncle, and cousins from Nebraska will be at mom's tonight when I go to get the kids. We're having a family dinner. Brian and Mary have been there all week, too. He had inservice meetings in Hot Springs several days, so they came up and Mary has stayed at my parents during the day while he went to those.
We'll celebrate Brian's bday tonight.
Our annual August birthday bash is scheduled for August 14th.

The next 2 weeks will be pretty laid back, but then, 2 weeks from today, starts the beginning of school madness. I'll take the kids back to their dad's on Aug 5th.
Thurs/Fri... Aug 6/7-inservice
Mon-Thurs... Aug 10-13 inservice
Fri Aug 14...work in your room day (go get kids for the weekend..Trey and Matt will return to Glenwood on Sun)
Mon Aug 17... inservice
Tues Aug 18 ...Open House at school (after working in room all day)
Wednesday, Aug 19 ....FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

Yep..summer is drawing to a close.
2 more weeks of "free time", minus one inservice, and working in my room a few of those days. (it takes quite a few days for primary teachers to prepare a classroom...not counting the time put in putting names on everything, preparing info folders, bus tags, etc..)

So..I plan to make the most of it.
