While I've got a few minutes.... I came across this in my friend Cathy's blog. She always has awesome survey thingies!

1. A new Miss America was crowned on Saturday night-did you watch? If you were a contestant what would your talent be?
~umm...do they have a category for how to burn yourself the most while cooking?? I'm really good at that!

2. Do you have houseplants? Real or fake?
~I am a botonist's nightmare. Everything I touch dies. I prefer fake ones, and have a few. But even those are looking a little peekid (ok..that is not spelled right, but I'm too lazy/computer is fussy this morning and don't want to go check the spelling and the spell check on here was not helpful)

3. When you were in school did you speak up or were you more of the hide your face, avoid eye contact, and pray the teacher didn't call on you type of student?
~as a younger student, I had all the answers...but I soon learned that THAT earns you no friends. In high school I always knew what to say, but learned to keep the mouth shut b/c boys didn't like know it alls. Unless I was too busy passing notes and not paying attention...then I'd try to hide, which never works, justsoyaknow.

4. Next Monday marks the Chinese New Year...what do you order when someone suggests Chinese food?
~shrimp in lobster sauce with noodles...sweet and sour shrimp and chicken...eggrolls, and those yummy sugary biscuit things!

5. How would you define a miracle? What would it take for you to consider something a miracle?
~(Keeping Cathy's answer on this one)"A miracle is something that can only be done by God's power." I've seen so many miracles in my life...from the smallest things of getting into the college of my choice, (which truly was God intervening) to cancer suddenly disappearing from a relative's body with no explanation, and babies living when all medicine and science say they shouldn't. Miracles are all around us..if we just acknowledge them for what they are.

6. What's your favorite Disney song?
~Oh I like so many. I love "So This Is Love" from Cinderella, and wanted it in my wedding, but the groom(s) didn't see it my way. I also love the soundtracks to The Goofy Movie, and Mary Poppins, and Mulan, and...and...oh there are just so many!


7. I should have _____________ yesterday.
~stayed later and cleaned my classroom

8. Insert your own random thought here.
~Hoping the long drive, in the foggy-trying to mistyrain weather, to look at a totally unfamiliar college campus with #1 son proves very successful today.

Those were great questions and great answers. I love all the Disney songs too and I think miracles are all around us as well...just having a healthy baby is a miracle. God is still in that business. I kill all my plants too. Inside or out. LOL

I see tons of cute ones everyday when I'm perusing pinterest. I could do that. maybe. no...probably not. But I might try. This place did not turn out the way I wanted it to. I have my personal "diary" blogs/journals elsewhere. This one is too public for that anymore. I should make it something fun. I don't want to lose it. Erica made it so cute for me. I don't even know how to do that... or, for that matter, delete the entries I have here. I can't find the "dashboard" button that use to be there. hmmmm.. This may take more time than I thought.

Dictionary.com defines it as Something expected. hmmm....kinda vague, so I looked up "EXPECT": 1.to look forward to; regard as likely to happen; anticipate the occurrence or the coming of 2. to look for with reason or justification: There are certain things I just expect in life: * I expect the light to come on when I flip the switch. * I expect the microwave to pop my popcorn perfectly in about 3 minutes. * I expect whatever I'm plugging into the electrical socket to work when I turn it on. * I expect to be given correct change when paying for a purchase. Today is Alphabe-Thursday. That means my blog is brought to you by the letter C...so let's get right down to it. is for ahhh...the simplicity of crayons! An essential tool in my profession, and yet such a vital part of our lives. Crayons have the ability to color our world. They add life to simple drawings, brighten up the darkest of pictures, and create rainbows on rainy days. After completing a writing assignment my students will often ask...."Do we have to draw a picture?" "Of course you do!! And use your crayons!" I will reply. And then the real feelings of their topic show through. Without color, how dull our lives would be. No yellow sunshiny days. No pink cotton candy. No blue skies and green grass. Lollipops would be tasteless and lemonade would be just water. The fashion industry would go bust and movies would not be worth seeing. Crayons add life. They add spirit. And they make me smile.
