The most busiest time of the year, part 1 (July 23-Aug 5)
Well, here I was all worried that everyone was missing me....I mean, it's been another month practically since I posted anything here, but from the looks of it (as in...there are no comments whatsover on the previous posting) noone even noticed I was gone.
Oh well... this can just be my little time capsule then to keep track of the events in our lives.
Saturday & Sunday, July 23-24
CHILLAXIN' AT HOME
Doing what we do best...playing with the furbabies and grilling!
Throwing a few veggies (and fruit) on the grill.
Greg plays with Tate and Maggie...they are so funny. Maggie will bring us a toy to play with, and Tate will come snatch it. And Maggie just lets him. oh, she'll fuss about it some, but she will not try to get it back from him. He just takes her stuff. Sometimes she'll get tired of him, or decided SHE wants to play, and start tagging him on the head with her paws, then they "get into it", chasing each other around the house, barking and raring up on their back legs, using their front ones to tag each other..it's so cute!
We got the kitty to start drinking milk, too. He is growing like a weed!
Monday, July 25-Friday July 29
LET THE CLASSROOM WORK BEGIN
Creating the best learning environment for my students this year took on a whole new meaning.
It was all about the cute!
I tore down every bit of "Superstar" stuff, and started from scratch.
These pics were actually taken sometime mid week after I'd started putting up the new stuff. After going back and forth on what to theme my room, I opted for using
the Trend Furry Friends. Of course I couldn't call my kiddos "Mrs. Bobo's Boogers" or "little monsters" like I would've loved to, so I decided to just tag us "Mrs. Bobo's Bunch". It was a long process that took all of this week, and the next (with a couple trips to the teacher stores thrown in there, for more supplies of course!).....

GLOBAL GREG DAY
It was Greg's birthday so I took him to our favorite place for our favorite meal.
TGI Friday's in Shreveport.
Sunday, July 31
PREPPING FOR ANOTHER WEEK
Reading up on this literacy program...
and trying something new I saw on Food Network.
Monday-Wednesday, August 1-3
These 3 days were spent at school doing inservice meetings and fixing up my class. It was still a long way from finished..but getting there.
In one of our meetings we had to describe how we felt teachers should be...
My first grade team came up with the ABCs of us:
Thursday, August 4
WORLDWIDE MOLLY DAY!
This was Molly's 12th birthday. The day she'd been counting down to for 4 years!!
Why?, you may ask...
well, b/c she'd been told at a much younger age that she'd have to wait until she was 12 to get her own cell phone.
And now the day was here...
After that first gift was chosen and paid for, we loaded up and headed to the Louisiana Boardwalk in Shreveport/Bossier City for a day of fun.
Lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings
Riding the Carousel--my fave!
Then home for "a party".
She wanted to stop and pickup Chinese for her birthday supper,
then it was BIEBER FEVER with cake and presents!
She was one happy girl!
Friday, August 5
ANNUAL AUGUST BIRTHDAY BASH
As you may remember, my family celebrates birthdays in a big way, but none are any more lively than the Annual Birthday Bash in August. We've come to celebrate not only those turning older during this eighth month of the year (Molly, nephew Dalton, Dad, and SIL Gayle,) but now extended it to the late July bdays as well--brother Brian and hubby Greg.
As always, it was the place to be (well, except for Greg, who had to stay at work prepping for next week's Watermelon Festival.
The grandkids were there... the local ones anyway...
and everyone opened gifts...
Gayle and Brian
Poppa
Dalton
Molly
And Baby Max just had a good time!
Then it was time to blow out the candles (there were 3 cakes in all)
and Mary did not even try to hide the fact that she likes icing the best!
It was a fun time....and I left the kids there to spend one last week at their dad's before school starts again.
And with that... I shall take pause and continue this ongoing recount of my days later. I've been sitting here sharing for nearly 2 hours, and it's now time to get dressed and meet some of my family in Texarkana for a day of "fun".
Stay tuned for part 2!!
