NEVER TOO HOT TO GRILL
The temps may have been in the 105-112 range all week...but that doesn't stop us from throwing some food on the grill!
This baby has been the best investment we've ever made.
taters and squash
shrimp, pineapple and stuffed mushroom caps
Burgers and more pineapple
Yep... do like to grill!

ANOTHER DAY OF INSERVICE
Today we came up with a list of what we believe about children.
Wednesday, August 10
FIRE! FIRE!
Along about evening, after we were all comfy cozy on the couch watching our shows, Greg's mom called to say she saw lots of smoke coming from what looked like the middle of town.
So we jumped in the truck to check it out and sure enough...a house was on fire.
It had started as a grease fire on the stove..a young man panicked and threw it out in the grass, and then came back in to find the kitchen on fire. Completely burned down the house.

OPEN HOUSE DAY
Our last day of inservice before meeting the kids. Lunch was served,
and the room was prepped with goodies for the kiddos.
I had 16 out of 20 parents show up to fill out papers and meet me.
Not bad.

KID DAY
The kids got here Thursday. Their dad took the boys to get their schedules that morning and made it here in time to take Molly to her new school for Open House.
Friday they hung out at home while I finished up at school, so today was Play Day for us.
First I helped Greg and the TV crew out at Watermelon Festival....interviewing our friend the Congressman, and our long time acquaintance, the Governor.
Then the kids and I loaded up for the afernoon.
Just shopping and lunch...but still a good time.
Here I noticed that Matthew (12 yrs old) is now as tall/taller than his nearly 18 year old brother, Trey!

THE LAST DAY OF SUMMER
I took the boys back to their dad's, then came home to mentally prepare for the first day of school tomorrow.
The rest of the afternoon looked something like this...
if you were THE DOGS!!!
Me...I had lots to do.....and stayed up late...but it was all worth it the next day as I met my new little ones.
Stay tuned...the first weeks of school are coming up next!
