Project 365: Bring on Fall

A Picture a day for 365 days...a year's worth of fun!

Fall is in the air! After suffering temps of 102 on Sunday, it was actually "chilly" by the weekend with temps in the 70-80s range. I do believe Autumn has arrived!

MOVIE DAY
Molly and I laid around watching movies today. I was exhausted (as was she) so we skipped church (shhhh! don't tell my mother) and and had a quiet day.

(if you can't tell...we watched Letters to Juliet, The Break-up Plan, and Our Family Wedding)

WHEN THE HUMANS ARE AWAY, THE PETS WILL PLAY DAY
I received an email at school Monday with the subject line:Uh Oh!
That can never be good.
It seems that my stepson's cats and my dog were doing their usual playing/chasing each other around the house (the cats chase Maggie just as much as she chases them) and the ironing board got knocked over hitting a lamp on an end table which had (yes HAD) a glass top. The lamp went straight thru the table shattering the glass.

(no more tabletop)

FAIR PARADE DAY
Nothin' says "Small Town Fun" better than riding on a float in the fair parade!
(Molly's on the front right end. I was asked to ride with them to call out the cheers as we paraded down the road. Maybe I should never have told them my nickname use to be "Megaphone Mouth". huh?

PRINCIPALS' BOOK OF THE MONTH CLUB ACTIVITY DAY
Our principal and 2 asst. principals started a Book of the Month club this year.
They pick one book for the entire school (K-4th grade) to read and do activities with each month. The objective is to have one common thing in our building that everyone is doing, so that any of the staff (from teachers/principals to aides/custodians) can stop any student and have something to talk to them about.
Our book for September was Wolf.

(a wolf wants to learn to read so he can be "educated" and hang out with the "educated pig, cow, and duck". After reading today, the kids wrote in their journals about something they wanted to learn to do. Their were things like "karate, play basketball, cook, and ride a surfboard" among them.)

I LOVE THIS CLASS DAY
I took advantage of having all my students present today and took some pics of them as a group. I love this class of kids. Sure...there are a couple that try my patience a little, but they are all so sweet and loving and get along together really well. Even my autistic child is doing so well right now. We had a great week!

CHEERLEADING AT A HOME GAME (finally)
Didn't have to travel far to our ballgame today. It was at our high school, which is at the end of our block!

(can you say, "Megaphone Mouth,Jr"? LOL)

(they make up their own half-time shows!)

So that was my week...never a dull moment here!

I am participating in the 2010 Mommytography 365 Project!
For this year long project I will be posting an image a day.
I am hoping this will...

• help me find new things around me to focus my attention on
• share my world with my friends and family more

Anyone interested in photography can join, no need to be a Mommytographer.

I love the book Wolf! Great book.

I need to get some photos with my first graders.

My wife wants me to watch the Backup Plan with her but I have been hesitant...

I really thought that Molly had met Justin...that is too good! LOVE IT!
Sorry about the end table but just get some glass or plexiglass or even plywood cut (you can paint the plywood) and put it back in there. Easy peasy!
I sure do miss you...know it?
Peace & Love always,
~Barb~
